About project

According to the FSI (the US State Department’s Foreign Service Institute), learning the most difficult languages (such as Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin Chinese) would require a minimum of 88 weeks of study time (2,200 hours). For the Finnish language, it is only 1,100 hours.

I first launched this project when I was preparing for YKI keskitaso (Intermediate level test) to get a National Certificate of language proficiency that would evidence my B2 command of the Finnish language - enough to pursue accounting studies in the best business school (in my humble opinion) in Finland!

What you may find in #startyourFinnish:
- practical advice on preparing for YKI keskitaso;
- general reflections on learning Finnish;
- useful links (blogs, articles and social media pages);
- reflections on time management and general tips on language learning. You will like it even if you are not planning to learn Finnish!
